Check whether the work arrangement fits

Dubai’s government guidance describes this route for remote work with an overseas organisation. Explain who employs or pays you, where that organisation operates and the duties you will perform from Dubai.

If you own the business or have multiple clients, describe the structure accurately and confirm that the evidence meets the selected service requirements. Do not assume a local freelance or business licence is included.

Prepare a consistent document set

The GDRFA service lists passport and photograph, health insurance, medical fitness and identity-stage documentation, alongside proof of overseas remote work and the income requirement. The final document list can depend on application answers.

Check that employer letters, income evidence and personal details are consistent. Explain any variable pay, recent job change or gap before submitting; avoid presenting projected income as already received.

Plan renewal and changes

Renewal is a new assessment under the relevant requirements, including continuing overseas work and income evidence. A permit should not be treated as automatically renewed because the previous application succeeded.

Keep the decision, expiry date, current employment records and insurance details organised. Reassess the position before changing the work arrangement or assuming a gap after expiry is permitted.

Treat relocation as more than the visa

Family residence requires separate eligibility and document planning. Check each person’s existing status and intended travel dates before committing to school or accommodation arrangements.
